Ryan Urbanowicz, PhD
Ryan Urbanowicz is an Assistant Professor of Informatics in the Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics within the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Urbanowicz research areas include bioinformatics, data mining, machine learning, evolutionary algorithms, learning classifier systems, data visualization, and teaching. His primary research interests focus on the development, evaluation, and application of novel computational, statistical, and visualization methods to facilitate classification and data mining in the complex, noisy domain of biomedical research. Dr. Urbanowicz earned his PhD in Genetics from Dartmouth College, and a B.S. and M.Eng. in Biological Engineering from Cornell University.
